when I start a handmade system it does not boot.

selected lines are missing in my handmade system (Fusion MPT base driver 3.04.04) and kernel panics therefore .
How to fix this?

It boots before or It never boots? Change the SCSI adapter to buslogic and try.
Gentoo installation CD boots and sees scsi targets on LSI Logic, and Debian etch is also running installed in a neighbour guest on LSI Logic. Why should I change this host adapter and not try to fix it?
Of course I have read this and followed the instructions, but missed something subtle. I have ho clue what exactly.
