Xen VM to OVF for VMWare

I can use Citrix tools to create OVF BUT the OVF is not using disk files that is VMWare compatible...must be vmdk´s Smiley Sad

So the next step is to use VMWare Converter to create wmdk´s and treat the VM as physical...BUT how can I create them into OVF so I can import them into Cloud Director (only supports OVF)?

Must I use a temporary installation of VMWare version something (perhaps Workstation or player) and then export them from that system as OVF?

Must admit that I am quite a newbie on VMWare products ..but forced to be a VMWare integrator Smiley Happy

Much appreciated for any info on this.....

Take a look at the OVF tool, it may help you with a portion of what you are trying to do.

HI again!

Now tested this so I thought I´d share the info:

Install the VMWare converter on Xen VM and export it (treat as P) to v.

After this use ovftool to convert to proper OVF package

Upload to Cloud Director

Remove XenTools

Install VMWare Tools...voilá ...now it is up and running on VMWare.

This all took me about 3 h...but then again it depends on the network, disksize etc etc...

Thanks for the guidance by KjB (and also my colleague who told me to look at OVFTool)
