Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bits on HW v7.0 with 4GB of memory

Is there any reason, or technical limitation that prevent my Windows XP Pro SP3 32bits from detecting all of the 4.0GB assign to the hardware?  Not matter what switches I use within boot.ini (e.g. /3GB, /PAE, or both), task manager only showing it having 3GB.  I am using HW version 7.0 on ESXi 4.1 Any feedback would be appreicated

Hi,

32bit OS has the maximum limitation of 4 GB. So the OS won't detect all 4 GB.

And this 4GB includes for  CPU cache, HD cache, DVD Drive cache, VGA memory, Memory loop hole, etc.

windows xp 32 bit max ram limit is only 4 gb. but windows xp 32 bit dosen't use 4 gb, its support upto 3240mb. any windows 32 bit only support upto 3240mb. If you want to upto 4gb you need to edit /boot file.
