Good morning guys
I would like to share my tip here as I could not really get any clear answer on this.
We had a client with 3 vm server and all 3 had Widows 2008 R2 64bit installed. All 3 of them where running high CPU if you open any applications like task manager and explore. We tried uninstalling the vmware tools and reinstalling. We disabled the Keperskey virus scanner. We even changed the OS selection to R2 in vmware.
This is what we did to fix it.
Fix:
Uninstalled the Keperskey virus scanner software (or any problem software)
Uninstalled the vmware tools
Changed the vm's OS selection to Windows 2008 R2
Reboot the server
Install the Keperskey virus software
Install the VMware tools
Note: Always install the vmware tools last.
This sorted out the problem with 3 of our Windows 2008 R2 servers. All the servers are responding like they should.
Thanks for the great community
