Windows 2008 R2 freezes up

I just created a Windows 2008 R2 VM. However, I'm finding that as I navigate thru the Explorer or activate any application, the VM locks up. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, what did you do to resolve it? Thanks in advance.

Hello.

What VMware product (include version, build) are you using to host this virtual machine? Did you install the VMware Tools in the VM?

Good Luck!

I think I may have found the problem. It appears to be associated with the same Blue Screen problems I had with an earlier Windows 2008 install. I had to remove the VMTools SVGA from Device Mgr. Seems to be working now. Thanks.

Yes, I have seen a lot of problems regarding the lockups and 2008 R2. This KB article states the same fix that you successfully applied.
