I have been reading articles, ie http://www.boche.net/blog/index.php/2010/03/28/windows-2008-r2-and-windows-7-on-vsphere/, about VMware Tools now including a working video driver for 2k8 R2. I am running ESXi 4 U1 with all patches but when I setup a new VM running R2 and install VMware Tools, I don't see the C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\Drivers\wddm_video folder that I can upgrade the driver to. In fact, I don't see any folders relating to drivers. What am I missing? Is there any place that I can download the drivers from outside of VMware Tools?
Hello.
I don't see the C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools\Drivers\wddm_video folder that I can upgrade the driver to.
That is the wrong path. It is located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\wddm_video"
Good Luck!
you've installed the VMware tools into your W2K8R2 guest, correct? If so, they files in question are located in the directory specified

Thanks so much for pointing that out. Silly me, it even states that in the article I posted, doh! I guess I was just used to the other drivers being the folder that I was looking that I failed to pay attention that the video drivers were installed in a different folder. Thanks again!
