Windows 2008 ESX 3.5 VMWare tools installer error "Internal error 2755"

I ran into an issue when trying to install VMWare tools (ESX 3.5) onto a 2008 RTM Server. The installer will start then error out with "Internal error 2755..."

After some research all you need to do is create an folder under windows called "Installer". Re-run setup, and it works fine.

Mine problem went away after I un-installed VMWare Converter Agent (and VMWare Player) from the VM machine. This VM was created from a phyisical via Converter and had VMWare Player etc installed on it, that seems to be causing problems.
