I need to migrate an ESX 3.02 MS SQL VM from one EVA to another (Same VMW host).
I would like to do the following:
Put source VM into snapshot mode.
vmfsktools -i the VMHD's over to the new LUN on the new EVA
Power down the source VM
Copy the redo's over to the new EVA and apply them to the destination VM
Power on new VM
The idea is to keep downtime to a minimum hopefully < 30 minutes.
Is this possible? Is there a better way to do this?

You can try the SVMotion plugin for Virtual Center 2.5. It's third party and not supported by VMware. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet though.

if you have CA make a replica and go from there.
