Hi,
I'm confused, I keep getting conflicting information about which Time sync
config to use these days for Fully P2V'ed infrastructure. OK Here a scenario:
about 30 servers migrated and running on aa vSphere Infrastructure ESX 4., vCenter
4........ 2XW2K3 Domain controllers (Virtualised) the rest of them, a mix of
app DB and members servers doing various rolls. No when "Best
Practice" wise do I......
A) Keep the PDC emulator setup to retrieve it's time from an
"Atomic time source / NTP server, then keep windows time service running
and just have the rest of the domain members servers Synchronizing from there
or do I........
B) Disable Windows time Service on all member domain controllers and domain
member severs and have all virtual machines retrieving there NTP time source
from the ESX host via VMtools.
Can anybody give me a straight answer?????? <
Regards
Peacey

You can get this best practice guide from VMworld Virtualize Domain Controllers Guide that explain the tips and tricks how to manage it and configure NTP through VMware Tools or hack registry settings. Option A should be sufficient for all your virtual DCs.
