Video Drivers

I have just installed Win2000 server on a Dell R805 running ESX 3i v5 and I can't install any video drivers. I downloaded the drivers from Dell's site and when I run the setup.exe it starts the install and then just goes away, Any ideas?

Have you installed the VMware tools for the virtual machine? These tools have graphics, network, memory ballooning drivers etc.

To further refine the above posters response. In a virtual guest, you do not install the drivers for the hardware that ESX is sitting on. The vmware tools install generic drivers, and you cannot install (in this instance) the Dell drivers into the VM. You are separated from the hardware with an abstraction layer(the point to virtualization).

At the bottom of this link will list generally what drivers are used (chipset driver depends on whether you are using Intel or AMD etc).
