VMware player 2.5.2-156735 and 64bit guest

I have a Lenovo T400 laptop with Vista 64bit, 8GB RAM and Intel Core 2 duo T9800 @2.93GHz. I would like to run Linux RH 4.0 AS 64bit as guest os on it. I downloaded the VMware player 2.5.2-156735 and installed on the Vista 64bit. No issues so far. I am going to build Linux RH 4.0 AS 64bit guest on another VMware ESXi server then copy it to Vista and convert it so that VMware player can see the .vmx file. I have done this before so I don't see any issues so far.

What I would like to know before I proceed with this combo is that will VMware Player 2.5.2 be able to run the Linux 64bit guest without any issues? Release notes do say that I should be able to run 32bit and 64bit guest on it. However; I noticed in the Vista task manager when I launch VMware player is that it starts as a 32bit app. If I allocate e.g. 6GB RAM to the Linux guest OS, will the player be able to allocate this memory to the guest OS although the player itself is running in 32bit mode.

You need Intel-VT support on your notebook to run 64bit guests. That's all, do not pay attention to Player status.

The UI operates in 32-bit mode. When running a 64-bit guest, the virtual machine monitor runs in 64-bit mode. The guest will have access to as much physical memory as the host OS does.
