Host: Windows XP Professional SP2, VMware Workstation 5.5.1-19175, 256 MB of RAM (AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 32Bits), 68 reserved for Guest, Virtual NIC goes into default host-only VMnet (I think vmnet9).
I have installed VMware Tools, it was unloaded the pcnet32 module[/b], no more networking on VM. Now, after rebooting, dhclient on guest Linux 2.6.x 32Bits crashes VMware by vlance.c with NOT_IMPLEMENTED. Removing the netcard, internal monitor error while starting X(.org probably 7.0). Creating a new virtual machine, installing the system, and don't install Tools, problem solved.
