VMware Tools and multi-homed VM

I have a multi-homed VM with 2 ip addresses, invariably the tools report the wrong ip on the VM's summary screen which then appears to affect the ability to open a console window.

As the ip I would prefer it to report is statically assigned, is there any way to config the tools to report the prefered ip?

Thanks,

Iain

If it's a windows box check under;

my network places/properties/advanced tab/advanced option

check which adapter is at the top of the list.

I think that order determins which IP the tools report out with.

My Dual-homed VM's report the Network connection at the top of the list.

Your right order determines which IP the tools report out with.

Thanks for the response, however there is only 1 ip bound to the LAN adapter, the rogue ip is coming from a PPP connection associated with a VPN link to a remote site.

(VM is running win2k3)
