Dear team,
I have below list of VMware Infra VMs , just want to know what will be the restart priority for these VMs during ESXi host failure.
AD
ADC
Inventory
MSSQL
SSO
UpdateManager
vCenter

Mr VMware
Depends of your HA Admission Control setting . If they are default all VMs have got Medium .
You can change this in Cluster Settings -> HA->VM Options .Set what priority best suits to your needs
Thanks Nobo,
that's what I want to know what will be the restart priority for these VMs, which VM wil have hive highesh priority and which will have medium priority.
Need ur assistance on the same.
regards
Mr VMware
My assumption for restart priority is
Highest
AD
ADC
MSSQL
Medium
SSO
Inventory
UpdateManager
vCenter
But this very rough , you better can set this based on your environment and upstream and downstream dependencies
Also you can have a look on Duncan vSphere High Availability (HA) Technical Deepdive - Yellow Bricks
Hello,
Not unless you set them up that way by hand as vCenter/ESXi does not know what is running within the VM, nor does it understand your personal/organizations naming convention. Actually, in many cases you may also want to not only set priority but order.
