VMWare Tools interfering with Guest network connection.

ESX 3i 3.5.0, 130755 running on HP DL 365 G5.

NIC teaming using VLAN trunking. Other Guest OSs running on the same vswitch/trunk/network are not showing the same problem.

One of my Windows 2003 servers cannot see the network after a reboot. If I open VMWare tools, go to the devices tab, uncheck NIC 1, apply, give it a minute to take effect, then re-check NIC 1 and hit apply, the network comes up.

If I remove VMWare tools, I don't have the problem.

I've tried removing both the VMWare tools, removing and re-adding the NIC, and then re-installing VMWare tools - the problem comes back.

When I install VMWare tools, the network comes back during installation, but after reboot goes away again until I do the deselect/reselect thing.

Any ideas?

Looks like it is actually an issue with the teaming/trunking, not the VMWare tools . . .
