VMTools file timestamped in the future

I have a Windows 2003 VM created from a template in a multihost ESX 3.0.1 environment and have noticed that some files are date/time stamped in the future.

e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\All Users\ Application Data\VMWare\VMWare Tools\tools.conf

It is time stamped: 30/11/2007 12:34AM.

Real time currently: 29/11/2007 2:55PM.

I checked the time on the VM and host and VI client and they are all showing correct time and correct time zone.

I am not sure what is going on here.

Edit---

I rebooted the VM and the "future" dated files are gone, now replaced by files with more appropriate timestamps (e.g. 29/11/2007 3:46PM)

I'll keep an eye on it but for now I am kinda bewildered.

look at your event viewer and try to find a time synchronization ....

I think that vmware tools or a ntp server change the date/time of your machine and the stamp too.

Bye
