VM Win 2003 R2 on a ESX 3.5 dose not recognize serial modem

Hello all,

I need your help, I am trying to connect a US robotics Modem to my Win

2003 R2 VM serial port, the VM recognizes the COM Port but dose not recognize

the modem, here is what i already have done:

1. Added a serial port on the VI hardware Window, Checked Connected

and Connect on power on also marked Use physical serial port with /dev/ttyS0

2. Add the following lines to the VMX file and then removed them

when it still didn’t work

serial0.startconnected = "true"

serial0.present = "true"

serial0.fileType = "device"

serial0.fileName = "/dev/ttyS0"

3. made sure the bios has the port on enabled.

any help or advice will be very appreciated

Thank you

Ron
