VM NIC disconnected on specific ESX host and won't connect

Having a wierd issue. I've got one ESX node in my cluster that when I migrate certain VMs to it, the VM's NIC will disconnect and not reconnect no matter how ofter I edit the VM settings and click "connected". If I VMotion them back to another ESX host they work fine. It's not all of my VMs, and I can't find any real reason for the behaivor. The ESX host is fully patched. At first I thought maybe it was that the VMware Tools installed on the VMs was out of date, but I've updated several of them, and it stil makes no difference. Tried reboots of both the host and VMs and still no difference.

Anybody got any ideas?

Duh, not enough ports on the vSwitch. Somehow the vSwitch on that host was set to only 24 ports.
