Hi, I have VI:ESX 3.0 and I am trying to install my customized linux OS-32bit which has 2.6kernel. I don't see an option in the linux OS drop down list to install this OS; whereas in the VMWare server I could see "other linux 2.6 kernel" to install it. In VI:ESX 3.0 I could see only "other linux" in the drop down linux OS list and If I choose other linux, the installation fails. Does it mean ESX server does not support installing modified linux 32 bit with 2.6 kernel? can anyone help?
TIA,KK

Hello,
For VC2.0 and ESX v3.0 there is no Other Linux (64bit) unfortunately. It exists in VC2.5. You should choose the closest match for 64 bit to you OS and try that. For example if your match is Fedora then choose Redhat, etc. You should be able to choose just about any 64 bit option to make it work.
