There is no supported command-line utility to VMotion a virtual machine.
There is a way to do it that I have read about, but you would have to search the forums for how people did it.
hi, you not remember the post?
The command-line version uses a perl script that works with the VDK toolkit and still talks to Virtual Center so you would have to have Virtual Center regardless.
As far as I know, VMOTION is a component of Virtual Center. You cannot move a live machine without it.
I hope someone can answer with a yes.
thanks to all
Yes, filnj777, VMotion is a component of Virtual Center and will not work without it.
but vmware shell vmotion without virtual center.
possible that not work without virtual center?mmm now i call vmware and insult it (joker)
They sell VMotion as an additional license that can be purchased seperately from Virtual Center. They also sell VCB, DRS, and HA licenses seperately too. You can buy the base virtual center license and get the management features of it w/o any of the advanced features.
