Unlimited Tab for VM resouces

Hi All,

just want to know how much maximum memory and cpu can we allocate to VM on ESX 3.5 update4

because when select unlimited tab in VM resources i can see 262235 Mhz for CPU and 692153 MB , does this mean 252 Ghz for CPU and 692 GB for Memory?

Thanks,

Amit

Maximum resources are limited by memory on host and number of vCPUs multiplied by physical CPU frequency.

When Unlimited is set it means that there would not be any additional limits, but in case of 2 vCPUs and 3 GHz CPU you can't have more than 6 GHz for this VM. Limits are used in high-loaded environments with lack of resources to prevent low priority VMs to steal resources needed for another VMs.

And remember there are limits to the resources that can be assigned - 4 virtual cpus and 64 GB of RAM -
