Tape available but can't connect

Hi.

I got a single host ESX vSphere with 4 virtual machines:

- vCenter

- TestServer

- DataRecovery

- File Server.

I connected de SAS Tape drive to TestServer -> OK in Windows 2003 -> OK.

backuped this Virtual Machine With VDR.

I deleted this virtual Machine.

Now I cannot connect the Tape Drive to "File Server", the tape drive is available with the good path (vmfs/devices/genscsi/naaxxxxxxxxx), but I cannot check "Connect" and "connect at power on".

What Happens ?

Hello.

My SAS Controler is an HP P212, my tape drive is an H¨P SAS DAT 320.....

Is this configuration is compatible ?

There's limited support for tape devices in VMs.  For a close to supported system you require an Adaptec controller.  You might find some helpful tips in this thread - http://communities.vmware.com/message/1690414#1690414.

So Only adaptec Controlers are supported...
