Shrink VMDK

Hello

I have a Windows 2008 guest with 3 VMDK's

C: OS

😧 SQL

E: Transaction Logs

Can I run this through converter to shrink the C: partition and maintain the size on the other partitions?

yes, just choose to only resize the C: and not the other two partitions.

Are the SQL & Log drives attached to RDM LUNs? If so, P2V Converter will automatically convert them to VMDK as well or you can disable all SQL services, detach the RDM from physical server and re-attach it on the VM after P2V'ed if you still want to keep the RDM mode.

Fortunately there were no RDM's, but that is good to know when using RDM's. Converter worked perfectly.
