Shared folders with host not working on Solaris 10

Some ancient history! I have inherited a Solaris 10 (x32) VM (running VMware Workstation 16 Pro on W10 Pro x64), and I consistently get this error when I install the VMware Tools in Solaris. I definitely need to get the shared folders working. Everything goes fine, up until the last step:

Starting VMware Tools services in the virtual machine:
    Switching to guest configuration:    done
    Guest filesystem driver:            failed
Mounting HGFS shares: failed
Guest memory manager: done
Blocking file system: done
VMware User Agent: done
Guest operating system daemon: done
Unable to start services for VMware Tools

Execution canceled.

Enjoy,
--the VMware team

Any suggestions appreciated!

Figured it out - had to get an older version of the tools (10.3.10) from https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/details?downloadGroup=VMTOOLS10310&productId=742 - installing this version allowed Shared Folders to work for me.
