Shared RDM Disk

I have a 7TB LUN (via SAN) attached to a physical Windows machine fine. When I try to access the same LUN via RDM within a virtual Windows guest, I can add the HD fine but when I go to Disk Management within Windows, there is a unreadable/unknown error next to the disk.

I want to share this disk between many Windows OS's.

What would be causing this error?

Are you setting up MS clustering? If not this configuration is not advisable and will most likely end in corruption of your data.
