Server 2008 missing as a Guest O/S option when creating a new Virtual Machine

We are using ESX 3.0.1 and its is up to date as 3.0.1 can be.

I'm wanting to install Windows Server 2008 and SQL 2008 but not sure which option to choose.

I was thinking selecting Vista option but not sure.

Since Windows 2008 is not officially supported with 3.01 you will have to select a different OS. Windows 2003 or Vista will be fine, does actually not make a big differents, even though Guest customazation will propably not work if you clone the VM.

Kind Regards,

Be Aware that Vmware do not support 2008 unless you are using ESX 3.5 or above as per the following link...
