Scheduled guest OS reboots.

Hi folks,

one quick question, does scheduling reboots of no of guests on the ESX affects any memory or cpu resources( because of adminssion control or reservation).

reboots, especially in masses, of guests will have an impact on their HOST(s). You probably don't want to schedule too many simultaneous reboots at once.

Hope this helps.

yes, but what kind of impact, is what i think correct about the memory , because rebooting will cause all the guest to requests for memory and CPU to satisfy their minimum requirement, which may cause trouble.

SCSI reservations could be an issue. Check out this excerpt from Texiwill's book that details it.
