Reset guest Windows 2000 password

Hi all,

I am urgently need to reset a windows 2000 guest VM.  I have tried few tools with no success, like: Kon Boot (apparently windows 2000 is not supported), Login-Recovery (needs Internet connection or USB ..), EBCD (apparently it doesn't work with VM),...  Please advise.

I'd look for a copy of WinPE or a linux live distro with password reset tools such as ubuntu. See the following link for more information:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, but even the website you suggested, is saying their solution is for XP, Windows 2003 & Vista. As you know I need a tol for Windows 2000.

Hi,

There are three options in the site you recommended. Two questions:

Which option should I choose from the available options: Ubuntu , PE-Builder and Offline NT password disk?

Do these tools work with the VMs as I have tried few tools already which work with the physical servers and not with virtual.

if i were to pick one i'd say ubuntu would be best for you. Theres no reason it wouldnt work with a VM.

Thanks
