Rerun vmware tools configuration automatically after kernel updates

I understand I need to have vmware tools installed if I want to use VMXNet 3 vNICs on CentOS guests and also that vmware tools needs to be re-configured between kernel updates.

My Question is whats the best way to have this process completed automatically between kernel updates?

Would using the http://packages.vmware.com/tools be more suitable for that situation and how is that effected when using vmxnet3 vNICs?

Thanks for that link it does look hopeful. Guess I won't know if it works for sure till there is a kernel update
