Problem with vmware tools in 2008R2x64

We have Linux vCenter and esxi5 servers.

After (automatic) installing vmware tools on 2008R2 servers, display adapter is SVGA and graphic is poor. Reinstallin tools not work, I have to manually update driver with those located in C:/ProgramFiles/Common Files/Vmware/Drivers/vddm_video and after that is ok.

Why automatic installation is nto enough?!

Also, I have a problem with VDR backup 2008R2x64 and I think maybe this has something with tools (maybe VSS). I opened thread(http://communities.vmware.com/message/1991749#1991749) but I didn't find the reason.

Has anyone get some idea?

Thanks

I can't tell you the reason why the WDDM drivers are not installed by default. However, this is by design and documented in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1016770

Which VMware product/version do you use? I recently installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on an ESXi 5.0 host and did not experience the issues which are usually seen in ESXi 4.x.

Thanks.

I use VCSA version 5.0.0-455964, and esxi 5.0.0. 515841.

All servers are 2008R2x64 and domain controllers and domain members (exchange...).

More then video driver, I am worry about VDR problem. Every while I must to delete vmdk disks on this VMs becouse sometimes removing snapshoot was not success?!

I read a lot about problem with VMware tools and Microsoft VSS but didn't find any clear reason and solution.

Does someone has 2008R2x64 with Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services, and VDR and VSS running ok?
