Problem with WINDOWS 2000 Server sp4

I have a problem regarding the number of cpu in windows 2000 server sp4 in ESX server 3.0.2u1. I imaged the physical machine (2cpu,single core;windows 2000 server) using Acronis. After that I created a vm with 1cpu and created a virtual disk and restore the imaged backup to that virtual disk. The virtual machine worked smoothly but when I tried to change its virtual cpu number from 1 to 2 (because it was 2cpu config when it was in the physical cpu) and rebooted the vm. After that when I looked at the task manager it only showed 1 cpu configuration.

My question is how can windows 2000 server show that it has 2 cpu config at the task manager?

Open up Device Manager in Windows 2000, select Computer and then change the driver to Multi Processor..

Create a snapshot before trying out, just to be on the safe side..
