After deploying some Linux (Red Hat Enterprise 6) guests from template, I discovered that respective partitions across different guests have the same UUID. e.g. /var on vm1 has the same UUID as /var on vm2, /tmp on vm1 has a different UUID from that, but it is the same as /tmp on vm2.
This hasn't caused a problem, yet, but are there any scripts or practices to make sure that newly deployed VMs have unique UUIDs within the OS?
Everything I've found on the subject has dealt with UUIDs of guests, but not of elements within the guests.
