Network Adapter

After converting a GSX vm using vmkfstools my converted vm is having network adapter problems. I tried unistalling vmware tools and reinstalling them in ESXi. The install throws an error about detecting an old version and not being able to install the new one. Also if I go to the vm settings before starting the vm and click on Network adapter 1 I get the following error: The information for device Network Adapter 1 is inconsistent with allowed values.......

Any help on getting past this would be great.

Jon

while the VM is off, right click on it, is there an option to upgrade virtual hardware? If so, do that as well.

1 - Uninstall the tools

2 - Uninstall the network adaptor(s) from device manager

3 - Reboot

4 - Delete the vmware folder in program files (if present).

5 - Reinstall the VM Tools, let it discover the network.

6 - Verify the settings worked

7 - Have a good day Smiley Happy

I gave it a shot but still no joy. When I go to install the tools again I get an error about detecting previous generation hardware.

Any other ideas out there?

Thanks to both of you. Upgrading the hardware and then an uninstal/reinstall took care of the problem.
