Moving a VM from 1 ESX server to another ( no shared storage, no Vmotion or Virtual Center )

Hi,

I our lab environement, we need to move a VM from 1 ESX server to another, there is no Shared storage or vmotion or Virtual Center. Can the entire VM folder be copied to an NFS folder or is it better to use Vranger to back and restore to the other ESX box...

Just looking for the safest and simplest way of doing...

yes, you can copy entire (powerd off) VM in another folder and then disconnect your old VM from esx host using VIC. Finally reconnect it in this mode: browse new datastore, select folder within your VM, and import your .vmx file.

Otherwise you can use vmkfstools command
