Check pages 19-22 of the NetApp and VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 Storage Best Practices TR3428 for the exact procedure.

Good Luck!

Hello.

What VMware product and version are you using?

What is the NAS product?

Any further detail you can provide would be beneficial.

Vmware product: ESX 3.5

Also, I have another question is it possible to mount a NAS volume directly

Thanks & Regards

If you are talking about a Windows 2003 Virtual Machine connecting to NAS - yes that is possible. Just treat your virtual machine as you owuld a physical machine -

Hello,

Before you let a VM mount from a NAS that is also being used by your virtualization hosts please take a look at http://searchservervirtualization.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid94_gci1344463,00.html
