Does any one know maximum resolution for Linux guest os on ESX Server?

Do we have any document mentioned about resolution for guest os?

Thanx

Yes it works for other VMs as well.

IIRC the document mentions, that 1600x1200 was tested with Linux as well.

I believe it is 1152 x 864. If I find any documentation that states that for sure I'll post back.

The default video RAM size in a ESX VM is 4194304 bytes. This leads to a max. resolution of ~1152x900.

You can however increase the video RAM size and use much higher resolutions.

See http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003 for details.

thanks Oliver, I stand corrected on what I posted. I had thought it was 1152 x 864. but wasn't 100% sure.

Since many systems can't / don't utilize custom resolutions 1152x864 is correct when you use the default video RAM size.
