Linux basic and VMtools

Hello,

I have to deploy several VM with a simple Linux installation (no X graphics, few services enabled), each VM with its own purpose (web server, database, custom application, etc). My doubt is: does it still make sense to install VMWare tools, even if the VM has no graphic environment, or I can avoid it because it is useless in this case ? Thank you forn any suggestion.

Stefano

Yes, you should still use VMware tools since there are memory sharing and other features in this package

Yep, install it:

- Memory Sharing (as the former writer wrote already)

- Timesynchronization

- Scripting

- Outside access (halt, shutdown, restart of guest)

- Optimized drivers
