Importing VM's

Hi all, I have used Veeam Fast SCP to copy various VM from a host to a NAS box. Is it possible to import into another host the files on the NAS box, or do I just copy the files onto the hosts VMFS partition?

If the NAS server is not seen as an iSCSI/NFS datastore on the ESX hosts where you want to import the vm's, then you will have to copy the files there.

Hi, the ESX host cant see the NAS as you said it doesnt have a mount point. However I have copied the files onto the host, how do I get the Host to see the files as a VM?

If you have copied the vm's onto the vmfs file. Right-click on the datastore name, and click browse datastore. Then, browse to where the files exist. You should see the .vmx file that defines the vm, if you right-click on it, you will get an option to add to inventory. Click on that, and give it a name, and you should be good to go.
