How to optimize Virtual Machine?

Hi Guys,

..sorry for my ugly english

this is the question:

I have Ubuntu 9.04 as host, and Windows XP Pro as guest os...is it possibile optimize VM about graphic works?I'm working with Photoshop and when i try to elaborate big images with high resolutions..it is very slow to load(about 10minuts to open image  )!

So..can i optimize my video card or VM to work better?

This is my hardware:

2GB RAM DDR2 667

AMD 64 3500+ (2,2GHz)

nVidia GeForce 6150Le(btw vmware can see only generic video card :S )

ps. I just have VMware Tools installed Smiley Happy

Thanks for support,

Davide

Welcome to the forums!

Have you installed the VMware Tools inside the virtual machine?

VM should have a lot of RAM, at least 1 Gb, and better to copy file to VM and then open it.

mmm...images in high resolution ( about a big advertising poster )..now i don't know in pixels cuz this is a "school" and i didn't try to work with its!!!btw...i tryed with more RAM but nothing..so i rly dunno,i think it's VM that isn't good to work with this software( about video card.. ).

CS4 only began to work directly with videocard. All the rest are using CPU. Run task manager, and look how on CPU and RAM load in VM.
