Regarding page 226 of the VMware Guest Installation Guide there are no VMware Tools for SCO: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/GuestOS_guide.pdf

Though this is a very old question, the following may help SCO.  It seems still pertinent in that I have found myself in a position to ask this very same question many years later.

VMware Documentation for SCO OpenServer 5.0

The document does give a variety of helpful information regarding getting SCO guests to work.  Interestingly, it also says:

VMware Tools in an SCO OpenServer 5.0 Guest

VMware does not support the port of VMware Tools provided by UnXis in the SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V product..

Who is UnXis?  Xinuos - Wikipedia reveals that it is a former name of the current owner of the SCO operating systems.

SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V for VMware Getting Started Guide

In particular, note the "The SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V Virtual Appliance" section, where it indicates:

SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V Version 1.0.0 for VMware is delivered pre-installed with the following major components:

  • SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7 Enterprise Edition
  • SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7 Maintenance Pack 5
  • SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.7V Virtualization Extensions
  • vmtools - VMware Tools

I had already learned that "SCO OpenServer 5.0.7V" is a virtualized edition of the operating system.  With that in hand, I found this:

vmtools.2010.03.20Additional Packages and Other SupplementsVmtools version 2010.03.20CbCriticalX23-JUL-2012

So it would appear that getting tools installed requires this:

But one must realize that this is a resource unsupported by VMware.
