the KB is for a 3.x Host, why would you think it doesn't apply?

Good point - part of my issues was I starteed to run the tools install from the gui - I know bad idea.

The media location a little different from the KB - but I went back and it seems to be running ok - i am sticking with all the defaults will let you know how it went

Thanks - I have LInux exposure - but if you don't do it every day you forget

Once I get this working I need to add virtual disk

and possibly redo the swap partition - lots of fun ahead

The configuration of VMware Tools 3.5.0 build-64607 for Linux for this running

kernel completed successfully.

You must restart your X session before any mouse or graphics changes take

effect.

You can now run VMware Tools by invoking the following command:

"/usr/bin/vmware-toolbox" during an X server session.

To use the vmxnet driver, restart networking using the following commands:

/etc/init.d/network stop

rmmod pcnet32

rmmod vmxnet

depmod -a

modprobe vmxnet

/etc/init.d/network start

If you wish to configure any experimental features, please run the following

command: "vmware-config-tools.pl --experimental".

Enjoy,
