How to access EMC VTL on a Virtual Machine

We have an EMC VTL where we create virtual tape libraries and assign to the desktop servers. These servers tech support engineers use to simmulate backup related customer issues. Now as we are movinig to virtualization, I wanted to know how the VTL can me assigned to virtual machines running on ESX servers.

Any help will be appreciated.

is the VTL on a Celerra or is it a Clariion Disk Library? if it's a CDL is connectivity via FC currently? in this case you'd need to implement NPIV fo rthe VM and switch ports if it Celerra over IP should be as you do it now.
