Have Guest see all available CPU

Is there any way to have the guest see all available cpu, even if it is unavailable to other VM's so Task Manager shows correctly?

I have an application that will shut down if it hits a certain threshold and I know TM isn't correct out of the box.

I have asked support on this and they are taking their time answering me.

Thanks!

Technically speaking I think guests always see the CPU available... The actual plugging and unplugging into CPU happens at the vmkernel below what windows knows.....

You could set a reservation to guarentee it has host resources available, but I dont think it affects how windows sees the CPU.

The VM will see the CPU as having the actual speed that the CPU physically has and as bigvee mentions a CPU reservation might help.

Does the application monitor Windows performance counters? If so you might be able to get around the problem with something like threadmaster: http://threadmaster.tripod.com/
