We have a old SCO 5 server that we need to get off old hardware and when we used the vmware 4 converter everything went great. Now when we boot up the machine we are getting a error (Warning: Test Open Failed "hd=sdsk" No root disk controller) PANIC: srmountfun - Errror 6 mounting rootdev hd (1/42) Error 6 openng dumpdev hd (1/41) Dump not completed
From one of my contacts, not me>>
At first glance, it looks like during the conversion process references to the root disk may have changed and conflicts with the configuration of the boot loader.
Also, it looks like it is loading Compaq/HP specific drivers prior to the boot. Once the OS is converted it is no longer running on HP/Compaq hardware, so it may interfere with a proper conversion.
Not sure whether this is something that may be removed prior to the conversion process.
did you try different controllers by editing the vmx-file and the vmdk ?
Have a look in the Converter forum - there you find posts from a SCO-expert handling similar cases

I have not edited the VMX-file or the vmdk. I will go to the Converter forums to see if I can get some info. Thank you
Redefining the existing virtual disk as IDE may help...
Its not a big deal to do that.
Post vmx-file and vmdk - not the flat one - the small one ....

Hi
please post "Medical Manager.vmdk" also - I only need the small vmdk - not the *-flat.vmdk
