HHmm. Didn't see this one coming. I have an HP Multifuntion printer that is network capable and works well. The problem is even though it is a network device the install for some reason looks for a USB port and if it can't find it, it won't install. There is a different version of the install that is for the print driver only. It does the same thing.
Where it stops is litterally right before the part where it would let you go out over the network and find the printer.
Any ideas?
Hello,
I would contact HP and get them to fix the driver properly.

I stumbled upon this idea....I installed the VMware View Agent 3.0 and it installs a virtual USB hub inside the VM. After that installs, the HP install will get past the part you mention. Hope this helps!
There may be other software that emulates "virtual usb hubs or ports". I haven't looked but I'm sure there out there!
