Sometime we all have newbie moments and they are both frustrating and humbling. So I apologize if I am wasting anyone's time, but I have searched the forums and cannot seem to find an answer that helps me. It has been a really long day already and I would be very grateful for any assistance.
I have been desperately looking around to figure out why my Platespin Protect is giving me "64 bit not supported" error when I try to setup a protect (P2V) job on my VMware ESX3i Version 3.5.0 (Build 123629) machine. The job would involve the virtualization of an Exchange 2007 server (running on Windows 2003 Standard 64-BIT o/s).
It seems to only have this issue with 64-bit operating systems as the 32-bit one's worked fine, i.e. the software did not complain when I virtualized a server that was W2003 Standard 32-bit. The Platespin guys think it may be the version of VMware that I am using and I am hoping that someone here can confirm or refute that theory. Below screencaps of the VMWare version and the Platespin error. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Laz
ESXi 3.5 can, but you need 64-bit capable hardware with VT enabled.
