Guest compatibility between ESX 3.0.2 and 3.5

Can a guest be ported over (copied/moved) or vmotion-ed from 3.5 to 3.0.2 or vice versa without a problem?

All of those things are fine. When you vMotion from 3.5 to 3.0.1 you get an error informing you that the VMtools are out of date - you can ignore it.
