You can also export as an OVF and import into vSphere

... or you can use the most reliable way and do it manually

if the vmdk exists as monolithicFlat - read http://sanbarrow.com/vmdk-howtos.html#flattovmfs

- rewrite to type VMFS

- upload vmx and vmdk to ESX with winscp

- register in ESX

if the vmdk exists as 2 Gb sparse split - read http://sanbarrow.com/uploadwstoesxi.html

- upload vmx and vmdk to ESX with winscp

- import vmdk with vmkfstools -i

- register in ESX

if the vmdk exists as one of the other two formats used by VMserver use vdiskmanager and change type to monolithicFlat or twogbMaxExtendSparse

and use one of the above procedures

rewriting the vmx is not really necessary in most cases

fixing drivers also is not really necessary in most cases
