Exclude VM from participating in DRS and HA

Hello,

I'm currently running a 7 node cluster with ESX 3.5 and Virtual Center 2.5, both HA and DRS (fully automated) are enabled.

Is it possible to configure a specific VM not to participate in DRS or HA migrations?

Thanks,

Steve

Hey,

If you edit the settings of the cluster, you will be able to set the DRS/HA attributes per VM.

DRS: Yes - if you edit the settings of the cluster , select VMware DRS/Virtual Machine Options you will see the VM you want listed and you can change it's automation to 'disabled'

There is a similar item in HA - VM Restart Priority, which will get you what you want.

And the option you will set in both cases will be to Disable -
