Equallogic Gurus Please Step Inside

Question for everyone who is well versed with VMWare ESX/ESXi 4.X running on Equallogic arrays: what is a general ballpark number for an acceptable level of read latency and write latency?

The reason that I ask is we are seeing average latencies on read around 20ms (with occasional spikes) during normal production and our SQL DBA is indicating he is seeing waits related to pending diskIO.

Install SAN-HQ and whatch at disk queue and IOPS.

What's the values? And which kind of disk do you have?
